Our World: Data Warehouse
Coraltree develops data warehouse architectures and highly available business intelligence (BI) tools for its clients to provide daily access to product, production, customer, contract, and financial data. In doing so, various data sources and data types—for example, using the dopplix®> data replication system developed by Coraltree—can be imported into a data warehouse via ETL processes in a purpose-driven manner.
Using the BI tool and the workflows developed by Coraltree for this purpose, time-controlled business reports can be generated and sent automatically. Thanks to the daily updating of the database, the client’s business analysts are able to quickly provide the requesting business units—such as sales, customer service, product management, production, and finance—with the analyses and reports they need based on the current data.
We also assist our clients in selecting and implementing dashboard applications, as well as in setting up the necessary interfaces to the data warehouse. The terms “data warehouse” and “data lake” are often mentioned in the same breath without distinguishing between them. The only thing a data warehouse and a data lake have in common is that both solutions store data. Since each solution serves a different purpose, it is important to keep them separate.
A data warehouse serves as a repository for data that has already been structured and pre-filtered, which can be processed for a defined purpose. In contrast, a data lake contains a collection of raw data for which no purpose has yet been defined.
