Coraltree: Our History
More than 20 years of combined experience and expertise
The history of Coraltree Systems Germany began in April 2012: Heiko Lippert, Richard Czech, and Uwe Ernert, together with Coraltree Systems Limited in the UK, laid the foundation for the company in Germany, which is now more successful than ever.
The Beginning
Even before Coraltree Systems Deutschland was founded, the managing partners had been working together for many years—first starting in 2001 at Kabel Nordrhein-Westfalen, and later at Unitymedia. It’s no wonder, then, that this collaboration gave rise to a well-coordinated team that continues to tackle and implement projects together to this day.
Each of the founders brings more than 20 years of knowledge and experience in the telecommunications and media industry, gained in roles and areas of responsibility that were, in some cases, completely different—an asset that represents one of the company’s greatest strengths and is highly valued by customers.
In 2013, Coraltree Systems Deutschland successfully sold its first instance of DaVinci, a customer management and billing system developed in the United Kingdom. Primacom Berlin GmbH—which is now part of Tele Columbus AG—needed a new customer billing and accounting system, as well as a system for calculating commissions for its sales partners. No problem for Coraltree: Within six months, DaVinci was adapted to the customer’s needs and the business processes developed jointly with the customer, and the interfaces to the other
The systems were set up and data migration from the legacy system was prepared. At the end of 2013, more than half a million customer accounts and contracts—including associated data history and customer accounting data—were migrated to the new system in a single operation.
At the same time, the DaVinci commission settlement module was adapted to the sales processes and products of Primacom Berlin GmbH and successfully implemented. Primacom’s IT and business processes were thus transformed into the new digital world.
From 2013 to 2015, as part of Primacom Berlin GmbH’s business development, customer and contract data from several acquired telecommunications companies—drawn from a wide variety of source systems, including the associated historical data—were successfully migrated to DaVinci.
In 2015, Primacom Berlin GmbH was acquired by Tele Columbus AG in Berlin. As part of a system selection process, DaVinci was chosen as the future billing and accounts receivable platform for the entire group. Following this decision, Coraltree also supported Tele Columbus AG in integrating its IT and business processes. The successful migration of all customer and contract data from the 17
The migration of subsidiaries and historical data into DaVinci was completed in 2017.
In the spring of 2018, the customer and contract data of the 16 subsidiaries of the Pepcom Group, which had recently joined Tele Columbus, were migrated to DaVinci.
Currently, in addition to wholesale, intercompany, and commission billing, over 1.5 million RGUs (Revenue Generating Units) are reliably billed each month across more than 20 clients, including invoice generation, while payment processing, accounts receivable, and receivables management are managed operationally.
Small but mighty
In 2016, a major change took place: the co-partner Coraltree Systems Limited from the United Kingdom sold its company to Netcracker EMEA Limited, a subsidiary of Netcracker Inc., thereby also transferring its stake in Coraltree System Deutschland GmbH. The collaborative partnership and exchange with Netcracker continues to bear fruit to this day and will continue to provide important impetus for the digital transformation of business processes in the future.
Since Netcracker is a subsidiary of the globally active NEC Group, headquartered in Japan, Coraltree Systems Deutschland became the smallest company within the NEC Group.
Small but mighty!
